A man has been arrested over the death of a woman in Sydney's south-west on Sunday afternoon.

Police say the woman in her 40s was stabbed a number of times during a domestic incident at a home in Macquarie Fields.Officers have arrested a 47-year-old man and his is being questioned at Macquarie Fields Police Station.A crime scene has been set up at the home and investigations into the incident are continuing.
